HOTMA
The Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act of 2016 (HOTMA)
was enacted on July 29, 2016. Title I of HOTMA contains 14 sections that affect the public housing and Section 8 rental assistance programs.
The effective date of the HOTMA provisions will be January 1, 2024. Owners may not implement these provisions prior to their effective dates.
